Rescue Engine 22 (D Platoon) along with Rescue Co 23, Rescue 20. Wilmington Squad 4, New Castle County Paramedics responded to a Delta Motor Vehicle Accident with two vehicles rolled over on Box 2230. A total of two patients were transported to the Trauma Center. Deputy 23 (Hamm) had the Minquadale Command.
Rescue Engine 22 (B Platoon) was first arriving on Box 2210 with Fire Showing from a 2 story middle of the group townhouse auto extending into the D1 exposure. A total of 4 lines were stretched & 3 operating. All searches were negative. The fire went to 2 Alarms. Chief 22 (Netsch) had the Minquadale Command. Rescue Engine 22 (C Platoon) operated as the RIT Company for Box 1110 for a fire in a Commercial Building. The fire went to 2 Alarms. Deputy Chief 13 (Hassel) had the Brandywine Command.
Rescue Engine 22 (D Platoon) 4th Due Engine on Box 0700F Salem County, NJ for fire in a Private Dwelling. Crews operated for an hour before being cleared by command. Chief 7 (Sooy) had the Dunlap Ave Command.
Rescue Engine 22 (C Platoon) 4th Due Engine for Fire in a Private Dwelling on Box 1100. The initial companies removed one patient who was trapped & they were transported to the trauma center. The fire is under investigation by the Delaware State Fire Marshall’s Office. Chief 11 (Edwards) had the Brandywine Command.
Ambulance & Rescue Engine 22 (C Platoon) responded to assist Brandywine Hundred with a Motor Vehicle Accident with Entrapment on Box 1170. Once on scene RE22 confirmed 2 trapped. Companies operated for an hour on scene. One patient was flown to the Trauma Center. The accident is under investigation by the Delaware State Police. Chief 11 (Edwards) had the Brandywine Command
RE22 (A Platoon) responded to an Automatic Fire Alarm on Box 2210. Once on scene they found an outside in fire on the Bravo Side of the house. The fire extended to the interior walls. The assignment was upgraded to a Box Alarm. The searches were negative and the fire was contained to the area of origin. WFD Battalion 2 (Gregg) had the Minquadale Command. The fire is under investigation by the Delaware State Fire Marshall’s Office
Earlier today on Box 1834 an additional Engine & Truck were requested to assist on a Tugboat on Fire in the Delaware River area of Penns Beach. Ladder 28, Engine & Chief 22 responded to the Port of Wilmington to be transported to the scene via a work boat from the Delaware Launch Service. Crews boarded the ship with additional SCBA cylinders & equipment along with our personnel were being sent to provide relief for the first due companies. Upon arrival the fire was contained and companies were placed in service. The was a multi-agency response operating under a Unified Command. Chief 18 (Majewski) had the New Castle Command
Early this morning Engine 22 & Engine 204 were alerted for an unknown Structure Fire in Box Area 2005. While en route the assignment was upgraded to a Box Alarm. Engine 22 arrived with multiple vehicles on fire in the rear of the building. Chief 20 (Snyder) had the Holloway Terrace Command. The fire is under investigation by the Delaware State Fire Marshall’s Office.
On duty staff through the month of December have participated in community events; 2024 Operation Santa through the district, Smoke Detector initiative Program and Elementary School Coat Drive which included delivering Santa Claus. Fire Company personnel also took the time to decorate the fire station and get into the Christmas spirit. Eastside Companies, New Castle County EMS & Police along with Wilmington Police Department responded this morning to the 400 Block of Bethune Drive for a shooting. The scene is under investigation by New Castle County Police.
