BOX 2000 WORKING FIRE

Units were alerted @ 02:56 for a reported outside fire in Box Area 2000 Pilgrim Dr & Cahalan Rd in the Simonds Gardens Community. As companies were arriving they found a house on fire in the 100 block of Thorn Lane. Engine 204 arrived with a 2 story end of the row townhouse with fire showing from both floors. The fire had also extended into the D1 exposure on arrival. Engine 204 stretched, operated & removed one occupant from the D1 exposure.
Rescue Engine 22 was committed to the original assignment and got stuck at Simonds Drive & Cahalan Rd due to poor road conditions. The crew extended their line and ran it through the alleyway into Rosegate between the communities. They stretched & operated in the original fire building. Rescue Engine 22 nozzle fell through the floor on Division 2 declared a mayday and was able to self extricate & continued operating with his officer.
Command ordered an evacuation of the original fire building. The 2nd alarm was struck due to the temperatures and poor operating conditions. Deputy 20 (Emmell) had the Holloway Terrace Command. The fire is under investigation by the State Fire Marshall’s Office.
