Fire Prevention & Safety Training Offered

Responding to fire, rescue, and medical emergencies will always be a priority, but prevention must take a larger role. In order to meet this role, Minquadale Fire Company has instituted several fire safety programs to help educate the public on fire safety and prevention. Fire Extinguisher Training

 Fire extinguishers are everywhere, but do you know how to use one properly? We provides hands-on fire extinguisher training with the use of a fire simulator.  Through this training, you will learn the proper use of a fire extinguisher as well as the uses for different types of extinguishers.

 *This simulator uses REAL fire and a water extinguisher, presentations with the simulator must be held outside and away from any buildings or other hazards.* 

CPR/AED Training

Minquadale Fire Company offers American Heart Association (AHA) CPR and AED certification and re-certification classes for both HeartSaver and Basic Life Support (BLS).  Learn invaluable CPR skills that can help save lives. Class size: 3-12 people.  Contact the station for class prices and dates.

Smoke Detectors & Batteries

Free smoke detectors and spare batteries are available to the public.

Fire Prevention Presentations

  • Have a firefighter come to your location and teach about a number of fire prevention and safety topics.
  • Presentations can be anything from learning about firefighting gear, to creating a home escape plan. Let us know what you would like to learn about the fire service and fire prevention.
  • Our presentations can be tailored for every age and any topic related to fire prevention and safety. Call to schedule a presentation. 

Hazard House

  • Small, 3-dimensional, interactive house that simulates fires and other hazards found in the home.  
  • Allows the audience to participate in transforming the house from hazardous to safe by identifying, discussing, and correcting the hazards.  
  • Great for teaching fire safety to children ages 5-12.
  • Hazard House classes are a great way to interact with children and show them life saving fire prevention skills. 
  • Minimum / Maximum size of class: 10 – 20

Safe-T-Bear

  • Safe-T-Bear DVD is a fun, interactive  video that teaches children about smoke detectors, fire escape plans, and fire prevention.
  • Suitable for grades K-2.
  • DVD can also be supplemented with a Hazard House presentation and additional fun handouts and games.
