Minquadale Fire Company Membership

Gold Life Membership

Members who have served the department a minimum of 20 years with at least 15 years of active service and the last 5 years of service meeting the requirements for active status. Members reaching this milestone receive a gold ring, are no longer required to pay dues, and have all the privileges of an active member.  

Silver Life Membership

Members who have served the department a minimum of 20 years with less than 15 years of active service within the department. Members reaching this milestone receive a Silver Life card and are no longer required to pay dues.  

Active Membership

Active members are individuals 18 years of age or older who have completed their required probationary period within the department.  Active members are required to attend a combination of alarms, meetings, and activities to maintain their active status.  Active members are voting members of the department, have a voice on the company floor, and are eligible to run for offices so long as they meet their annual requirements for active membership.  

Probationary Membership

Probationary members are individuals 18 years of age or older who have been tentatively accepted as an active member of Minquadale Fire Company and are in the process of completing their one-year probation period. Probationary members are required to complete basic firefighting and first aid courses within 12 months of being accepted as well as attend a combination of alarms, meetings, and activities in line with the requirements of active members.  Probationary members are non-voting members of the department but do retain the right to have a voice on the Company floor as well as other privileges granted to active members.  

Junior Membership

Junior members are individuals 15 to 18 years of age who have been accepted into the Junior firefighter program at Minquadale Fire Company with the consent of their legal parent/guardian and the Fire Chief.  Junior members have specific training requirements and station duties set forth by the Fire Chief.  Junior members are required to complete basic firefighter and first aid courses available to them based on their age, as well as in-station training.  Junior members are eligible for Active Membership within the department once they turn 18 years of age.
